GQ-6 Announces Sponsorship of the Los Angeles Velodrome Racing Association

GQ-6 Banner at the VELO Sports Center Extends Support for Track Cycling, Junior Development 


San Clemente, CA — (June 16, 2017) — Today GQ-6 Nutrition, Inc, announces its sponsorship of the Los Angeles Velodrome Racing Association (LAVRA) with banner placement at the VELO Sports Center in Carson, CA, the only indoor velodrome of Olympic standards in the United States.  Additionally, GQ-6 is sponsoring the popular LAVRA “Main Event” Omnium Series for the month of June. 

“We’re proud to ‘on the boards’ at the VELO Sports Center," said Richard Hiraga, Founder and CEO of GQ-6. "On this track, Olympic dreams are pursued, champions created and world records achieved. With this sponsorship, we share our support for LAVRA's outstanding efforts to shape track cycling in the community and beyond."

A volunteer-based organization, LAVRA has secured record turnout for track cycling events at the VELO Sports Center this year and is continuing to expand the number of racing opportunities for athletes of all levels. 

President of LAVRA, Vance Macdonald, said "LAVRA is excited to partner with GQ-6 on our premier race track racing series of the year. The Main Event omniums have featured numerous World and National champions, in addition to introducing many new riders to the thrills of track racing.

"We are particularly proud of our focus on the growth of women's track racing. GQ-6 is such a popular nutrition/hydration choice of our racers, and we appreciate their support of our beloved sport."

GQ-6 Board Member Bob Francis, Managing Director of the Foundation for American Track Cycling, was instrumental in creating GQ-6's partnership with LAVRA. This additional sponsorship of the racing programs at the VELO Sports Center with LAVRA once again demonstrates the company's commitment to supporting the sport and athletes of all ages."

The Los Angeles Velodrome Racing Association is a non-profit (501c3) volunteer organization, established in 2006 to promote the sport of bicycle racing and develop cyclists of all ages and backgrounds. LAVRA goals are to develop and improve individual cycling ability and skills; promote competitive cycling programs from junior through master amateur levels; promote local, national and international amateur cycling competition.
